During the last fiscal year FCC:

  • Served 230 individuals through FAMVIC with 0% repeat offenders in the Abuser Intervention Program 
  • Provided safe emergency shelter to 150 families fleeing domestic violence 
  • Worked directly with first responders such as law enforcement personnel responding to calls involving domestic violence to reduce fatality and re-injury (over 50% of hotline calls per month are made by first responders) 
  • Worked with Prince George’s County Police Department and Sherriff’s Office to thoroughly assess the safety of our shelter and community location to ensure our staff and participants are safe 
  • Increased access to Violence Against Women Act funding, transitional housing and Section 8 to secure vouchers for families to safely relocate 
  • Integrated emergency shelter services for male survivors fleeing domestic violence
